Work permit

Work in Canadá

The Canadian work permit, also known as a work visa, is issued to individuals eligible to work in Canada for a specified period of time.

As one of the world’s leading economies, Canada is a great destination for people looking to work abroad. The Canadian work permit visa allows business people, permanent or temporary workers, students and other eligible applicants to work in Canada. In most cases, applicants must have a job offer in hand to apply for the work permit visa.

Types of work permits

There are countless ways to work in Canada. Below, you will find the most used forms:

Through a study program (part-time during studies)

When you study a post-secondary program in Canada at a designated institution for at least 6 months, you can work up to 20 hours per week during your study program. Although you do not receive a formal work permit, you are authorized to work in Canada while you study.

Through a study program with Co-Op

A Co-Op is an internship that is an integral part of your studies in Canada. During your Co-Op, you are authorized to work full time, up to 40 hours per week.

a Postgraduate Work Permit (PGWP)
